post national day

This week's almost like a real holiday week. On MC, then real national holiday, then sch holiday, then work a day, then weekend again. Hmmm...

Frankenfish, how did your cook-out party turn out?! Managed to whip up all 7 exciting asian dishes on time and to good standard, and make all ur ang-moh frens beg for more? Ur sambal long beans with beancurd, bak kut teh, fried rice, fried noodles, potato dish, chicken & mushroom stew, and sweet & sour pork all good? =)

Watched NDP on tv. If not for it being the last parade to be staged at National Stadium, I wouldn't have thought this yr's show striking. The formations were colourful, but rather forgettable. Only the precision jumps with the pink-green bull's eye cushion, the black-white show documenting past glories of the Stadium, and the luxurious bursts of symphonic fireworks during the finale left an impression. Goodbye Grand Old Dame.

Caught up with dear dr arroway @ TCC after the parade telecast (yeah.. naughty moi, once slightly better, will sneak out). Had a

hot minty mocha

& the sinful tiramisu...

(thanks to sense of self-discipline, didn't touch more than 20% of them, coz all hell will break loose at the tonsils should I attempt more.. kudos to supper companion for helping to clear the plates)

Today was a big sneezy day. No more fever (hallelujah), fast-recovering tonsils (yippee), still-bloated stomach (sighz), and now my allergy has to visit. Just great.

But it's ok. Today, I've decided to start working at curbing my perfectionist streak. To be a happier person, I shall follow all the well-meaning advice given, and try to set lower expectations for myself and for others to reach. Good luck, Sunnytears.

Great that you made this might move out of your comfort zone. Don't try to leap k, your usual confident strides will do...

Still think your clarion 'cry' :) against corruption was a good move, will wakey them up!

Whatever the outcome, you can look back on this and tell yourself you tried ...

And you know what this blog lacks? Nothing else but another title lah : )
