The Pig Has Arrived

Happy New Piggy Year to all! =)

Well, realised I've disappeared for a while. =P Can't helped it loh, the big rush before lunar new year is always unavoidable. The last-min cleaning-buying frenzy is really one of a kind man. Over the past 2 days, was also putting together a few more bottles of cherry rosettes (seem like this is a crowd favorite, compared to carrot cake) and a trip to changi airport to fetch US uncle. Had reunion with another 90+ tables of strangers at some chinese resturant-clubhouse, then went temples to say hi to ma & grandparents, and finally am back home now to catch a breather before heading to fifth uncle's house for ang bao collection.

Can't believe it's Nian Chu Yi mid afternoon liao. And I thought I would have time to sneak in a movie on my own, a short nap, as well as maybe (*gasp*) some work! Hahahahahaha, but oh well, too ambitious as usual. Family visits will conclude by today, and for Chu Er and Chu San, it'd be some meetups with frens loh. Hope everyone else is in holiday mood, then there won't be too much guilt over undone work.

Anyways, one observation made was that ppl nowadays seem to be so much more casual abt traditions liao. I remember how we always wear new, red clothes with new "nei(4) zai(4) mei(3)" as well but today, as we drove ard on roads, I saw none of that red splash. Instead, it's just white, beige, an occasional pink and orange, as well as (*gasp gasp*) head-to-toe BLACK! And ppl dress down too, some even pottering ard in flip flops and berms. Hmmmm, I'd probably wring the neck of my grandchildren (if I ever get to that stage) should they attempt to enter my house in black, without mandarine orange and a few lucky-sounding words, with nicely combed hair. Hahaha, when it comes to family ties and festive stuff, I'm a big traditionalist at heart, no doubt abt it.

Ah well, too bad one of my mahjong kakis is away in malacca for CNY, so there's no "ka(1)" to play this time round. To the rest of you who are trying ur luck at the cards/mahjong tables, have a great time bonding & winning! To the rest, happy pigging out and either collecting or giving ang baos!

Happy New Year my dears, may the yr ahead be a smooth and safe one for us all. =)
