Sneaking in a min between work to write. Time is chugging along pretty quickly, it's coming to end Jan soon. Solid. In another 3+ weeks time, it's CNY again. Another perfectly legitimate season to pig out and chill. This time, US uncle is flying in to soak in the festive atmosphere, away from wintry cold states.. My turn to play host. What shall he eat... crispy roast suckling pig? traditional cantonese dim sum? salted veggie pig intestines? soy sauce braised trotters? Hmmm, time to up the exercise frequency before irreversible damage sets in.
Met up with 2 grps of great pallies over the past 2 days. IE buddies @ Hog's Breathe Cafe for a way overdue dinner date (our 1st meet-up since work started 3 wks ago) and JC galfrens @ Sushi Tei for an equally blue moon catch up (since last July?). That cosy feeling when catching up with good friends is like some magic balm.. soothes ur soul and makes you feel safe. Tks, pals. Gd luck for ur body workouts, masters course and korean hunks.
Was supposed to play badminton with HL on mon, but she sprained her poor ankle, so dragged dad to sports hall instead. Not too bad, 15 yrs since he last touched racket but some sporadic traces of magic still emerged. With more training, he'd soon soar like those senior uncles at adjacent court. Too bad, pa's down with fever + cough now.. Wonder if it's some bug caught at the court.

wah... tell uncle to take care ah... ah hahahaa... my turn to say this to him.
this morning, in a brave attempt to get some exercise, i rode the bike to work on hardened snow, i.e., ice. it's like skiing with the bicycle... wah dangerous man... as i mounted the bike and rode about 10 metres, saw a lady who overtook me 1 minute ago lying on her back with the bike on her legs. (but she was ok lah and overtook me a second time 3 min later)
then i told myself, "d-n, you don't have to do this (i.e., fall down) also,"
of course i didn't lah. but i think for the rest of winter, maybe i won't be hero fish and take the tram instead. actually, i think the possibility of me falling is higher if i walk than if i bike.
still haven't figured out how to walk safely on snow/ice.
phobia.
and today, my (ex-)baby told me he fell off his bike and his a** hurts a lot.
poor baby.
i'm glad i moved closer to the workplace. :)
what the...! u better not attempt bike-skiing on snow again. i totally do not want to welcome u back at airport with wheelchair or anything (*choi choi*). hey, if really cannot balance using only 2 feet, then maybe go get those 'ice-pickers' like those everest climbers use to pull themselves up snowy/icy slopes? better to look silly than to have a broken spine.
and abt ur poor ex-baby.. well, to think that he's been there for so long and still cannot balance... either his riding skills are really ow-tah or the snow/ice's really formidable. in any case, give him zam-bak for his a** if u are in a good mood loh. otw, leave his behind alone my dear. =)
it's not riding skills lah... ice is really treacherous. and no thanks, even the Ah Mmm are riding bikes, how can i be seen using sticks to walk??? and this is not even bukit timah hill... cannot pretend to be on everest lah...
